8/09/11 Web 2.0 Evaluation

Web 2.0 is a useful application that can assist in me in various ways. Whether it be hosting images, sharing media, creating websites, decorations, pictures or even creating logos. I have learned many things throughout the project and how web 2.0 can further assist me in future projects, careers or daily life. Web 2.0 is definitely an easier way of communicating to the public whether it be friends or family, through a range of different tools for many different purposes.

Web 2.0 has a range of applications that can be used, and are simple and easy to access and use. It is an easy application to learn but hard to master, but once mastered can produce great things. The project has taught me many things about the internet and its carious options, how applications work and why blogs are important.

Although a select few applications were used for this project, there is a much wider variety to choose from, that can help you with socializing, sharing, creating and editing various objects of your choice. Web 2.0 is a powerful tool that is easily grasped and can produce great things through simple instructions.

Web 2.0 is multipurpose and can be virtually applied anywhere, it can help you with your career, schooling and presentations. Web 2.0 is a great application and once learned can never be forgotten because its easy to learn.

6/09/11 Flickr logo maker

Today i finished my 10th folio task, and choice to make my own logos, with the assistance of the flickr logo maker. The purpose of this tool is to easily make logo's for future project with just the push of a button. Although the design may be the same the words are completely different, any word can be used and changed to look like the flickr logo. I can use this application for future projects when making logos for certain assignments. I have learned how to operate this application, as it works just like wordle by typing in a word and creating a new design of the word. 5/09/2011 Wix

Today i finished my wix website, the process was an easy task to lean but a hard one to master, many of the tools were user friendly and were very intuitive. It was a really fun a joyful experience, that can be applied in many jobs, whether it be making a website for your school, project or company. The web 2.0 application is a hard tool to grasp because of its technicality, but is made easy through the aid from many tutorials provided by the school and the website itself. I learned how to upload videos, music and pictures. I also learned how to decorate a page add links, how to add notes and change template names. The wix application was a very user friendly tool, even for beginners and many things can be taught with just one use of the application. The purpose of wix is to provide an easier way of creating a website, for beginners and even advanced users, as it caters for both parties. 8/29/11 Wordle

Today i finished my wordle project. The process was fairly simple, putting in random words or relevant words, then proceeding to the next page. It was a useful web 2.0 tool that can help me in the future for future projects, or decorations for the desktop or laptop wallpaper or screen saver. I learned how to edit the final product, with different colors in both text and background and different fonts, to give a more vibrant feel to the picture. I learned how to print screen and crop pictures from this process. The purpose of wordle is to allow users to create decorations, backgrounds easily, and keep it simple with words. The application isn't to technical and can be easily learned by beginners.

8/29/11 Mosaic and Puzzle

Today i finished the jigsaw and mosaic. The process was fairly easy, due to bighugelabs having user friendly tools to create various pictures. The web 2.0 tool on bighugelabs is very convenient, and can help me for future projects, or just for decoration, as a wallpaper or poster. I learned how to upload mulitple images, and the different techniques used to create and mesh different pictures. The purpose of this application is to provide an easier way of making decorative pictures without the hassle of cutting and editing, with editing programs.

8/25/11 Blog Sidebar

Today i had made a blog sidebar. I learned all the techniques in making a blog sidebar, and the simplicity of making a blog sidebar, finding different pictures, also learning that sidebars automatically find a montage of pictures. The blog sidebar tool for blog spot is simple and has informative tutorials that can assist anyone in making a good sidebar. It was extremely helpful when automatically finding pictures, instead of uploading individual pictures. This process can be useful in the future when making blogs in the future so people can see what I'm interested in and can be easily seen at the front page.

8/23/11 ICT Picasa and Prezi

Today i made 5 fruit faces and learned how to mesh different pictures together to make different faces here are the pictures i made. I had uploaded the images to my picasa. Picasa is a very user friendly tool that can assist me in the future when sharing photos with friends or to the public, and the process of making these faces can assist me in making new pictures, for future projects to make the audience engaged and interested. Prezi is a simple tool where all tools are easily seen and can be easily used. Prezi can assist me further in the future for better presentations and projects, as it can assist me with engaging the audience and providing smooth transitions, brilliant pictures and motivational words.

8/15/11 ICT Flash

Today we learned about the motion tween, and about action script 3.0, it was very different from last year and the old motion tween was now a classic tween.

We learned how to make a car move across a road, and how to manipulate the car to move in different directions, up, down, left, right even curved. I learned how to use a shape tween and the various effects a shape tween can do, such as change different shapes into object or other shapes.

For the first time i learned how to make text appear one letter at a time and made the letter blend in with my chosen background, i also learned how to change the fps to make it slower or in some cases faster. Here are my flash projects. Here are links to the finished flash files.

8/8/11 ICT Animoto

Today we learned about animoto and the process in how to use it. We learned how to upload multiple pictures, how to pick backgrounds, pick music for the slideshow, and how to download it on to the computer. It was a useful web 2.0 tool that can further assist me with future projects, or presentations assisting me in engaging the audience with vibrant pictures, transitions and music. The tool was very user friendly and was an easy process to get use to, as all tools are easy to spot and use.

8/4/11 ICT Flickr

Today i finished my 15 pictures, and experimented with the filter gallery, making sandcastles blend in with brick walls to make graffiti and also outing the images on paper to make it look like it was sketched.

I roughly did the same thing as last lesson but further expanded on my knowledge using filter gallery to assist me in making the picture look more intuitive and better. I had then uploaded the images into flickr. Flickr is a very useful tool that is easy to use and provides an easy way of uploading images. It can further assist me in the future by sharing my photos with friends or the public, in a user friendly environment. Or can be an easy way of obtaining pictures for my projects.

8/1/2011- ICT Web editors

Today i learned how to use web 2.0 photo editors, although it was complicated, it worked similar to photoshop. I made 4 pictures each with different effects, i learned the different options to turn a picture black and white, and learned how to desaturate and saturate images.


I learned how to adjust curves with different colours and also learned how to make pictures brighter, and match the lighting of the different backgrounds.

7/28/11 ICT Photoshop

Today we continued editing sandcastles, to make them match with different backgrounds. It was a bit tricky as we had to be very precise with different lighting's. I had various implications, including finding pictures that fit certain backgrounds and making them match each other.
I made 3 pictures today and all were very precise and well thought out. the first picture was put in a desert, the second was put under water and the 3rd was put in a forest.

18/7/11 Blogging

Today we learned about the basic principles of blogging, and ventured into different blogs, how they are used and why they are used. We learned different abbreviations such as RSS ( really simple syndication) and learned the way blogging works, and why bloggers blog through the internet

7/25/11 ICT Photoshop

Today i completed the worksheet, and started editing the sand castle images to upload on flickr. I learned all the basics of web 2.0, what blogs wikis and podcasts are.
I learned the process of using photoshop, how to merge different pictures and also blend the lighting's together, to make the picture look smoother and original. Here is the worksheet.

Wikis:
What is a wiki?
A Web site developed collaboratively by a community of users, allowing any user to add and edit content.
How do wikis work?
A wiki allows anyone to easily update the content on the site. If you can use a simple word processor or send e-mail, you can contribute to a wiki. It is a site where people can constantly update outdated information, without any special rights or permits.
What are the advantages and disadvantages?

What are podcasts?
A multimedia digital file made available on the Internet for downloading to a portable media player, computer, etc.

it is where a video is made by a group of people, in which is then converted into a media file, uploaded into the internet and is then downloaded by various applicants on the web, interested in watching the particular podcast. Once downloaded it is then transferred into a portable media device which can then be watched any time. Podcasts can also be streamed by web applicants who do not want to download the podcast, but instead want to watch it once.
